Reference number
Coordinator Chalmers Tekniska Högskola AB - Chalmers Tekniska Högskola Inst f Elektroteknik
Funding from Vinnova SEK 3 415 000
Project duration February 2025 - September 2027
Status Ongoing
Venture Strategic Innovation Program Drive Sweden

Purpose and goal

In a connected traffic environment, TEAPaN offers functions for increased traffic safety for everyone. TEAPaN will offer an ecosystem for increased traffic safety through better precision, handling and resource allocation for emergency and rescue services in traffic incidents. TEAPaN is implemented as a demonstrator in Chalmers´ Digital Health Sandbox (DHS) where development, testing and realistic simulations of benefits take place.

Expected effects and result

Bring TEAPaN closer utilization by public actors and business by clarifying benefits and societal and commercial gains. Identify opportunities to supplement/improve EU eCall and other alarm functions regarding false alarms and low precision. Contribute to more efficient use of society´s resources. Reduce the number of deaths and injuries in incidents such as traffic accidents and sudden illness. Offer an ecosystem with opportunities for business.

Planned approach and implementation

An important part of the project is to implement TEAPaN in the Chalmers ASAP (Acute Support, Assessment and Prioritizing) model and the associated test platform ASAP Digital Health Sandbox (DHS) where controlled development, testing, validation and simulations can take place. New actors and data sources such as fire, physiological data and image/video from e.g. drones will be evaluated, added and tested. The project uses both real and synthetic data as well as AI in development and evaluations.
