Important results from the project

This feasibility study has continued to explore the area of driverless multi-purpose vehicle systems in urban transport. The project has identified promising interdisciplinary themes to be further developed, in this pre-study developed to a larger research application. 1. Optimization tools for high and low-level simulation of multi-purpose vehicles 2. Coordination aspects of autonomous last-metre delivery 3. System analysis, resilience and urban logistics for multi-purpose vehicles

Expected long term effects

This feasibility study has continued to explore the area of driverless multi-purpose vehicle systems in urban transport. In future larger projects, simulation tools will be developed and system analyses of these transport systems will be done to get a better picture of their impact. Furthermore, the area of last-metre deliveries needs to be further analysed for these self-driving transportation systems in order to achieve an efficient transport system in the future.

Approach and implementation

The project has through several workshops, meetings and different literature reviews started to draft a research proposal for a larger project. The literature reviews were split into three parts following the themes of the project, in short; 1. Optimization tools for simulation DMVs, 2. Autonomous last-metre delivery, 3. System analysis, resilience and urban logistics for DMVs. Then the project designed a structure for a continuation project.
