The project has resulted in increased knowledge and experience of proactive safety work, and a method prototype ready to be introduced on the market.

Results and expected effects

The project has resulted in a method prototype for proactive and sustainable safety work that takes safety, economy and environment into consideration. The method prototype was found to be usable and the result could be visualized in an effective way. To take a proactive and sustainable perspective in safety work represents something new on the market which is expected to increase the competitiveness of MTO Safety. The project has meant that MTO Safety has been able to strengthen the image of the company as a center of excellence for safety work.

Approach and implementation

A method prototype was developed based on a literature study of existing research. The method prototype was then evaluated in relation to more traditional methods for risk analyses in connection with reorganizations in the railway industry. The risk analyses were performed in smaller groups in the form of Task Analyses. The result showed that the method prototype could be used effectively in connection with risk analyses.
