Important results from the project
The goal is to reduce car use in Mölle during the peak seasons of 2023 and 2024 through pilot projects with sustainable means of transport and traffic reduction measures. The aim is to bring about a change in behavior patterns by offering alternative mobility solutions to motoring linked to staying in nature and the environment. Aim and purpose have been achieved regarding the implementation of pilot projects and offering sustainable transport alternatives. Through strengthened collaboration with residents, businesses and partners, important initiatives have been implemented.
Expected long term effects
Several pilot projects have been carried out, which have laid the foundation for a more sustainable infrastructure and improved experience for residents and visitors. The cooperation between partners has been crucial for the implementation and for handling future challenges. Examples of activities are a pedestrian street along N Strandvägen, summer parking outside the village, bicycle rental and a campaign for increased travel by bus. The project was completed in sep 2024. MBKF together with partners such as Höganäs municipality and Länsstyrelsen Skåne continue to drive the work.
Approach and implementation
Part 1, projectstart, organization, planning. Part 2, restart - new project manager, expanded project group. Preparation and anchoring of the project plan. Great importance was placed on dialogue with relevant partners. Part 3, implementation, evaluation, final report. Collaboration and dialogue increase possibilities for dealing with complex challenges. A consensus on the target image for the location increases commitment. The municipality together with non-profit involvement was identified as important. To plan, implement and evaluate effects, 2 years is a short time.
