Project duration February 2023 - November 2023
Status Completed
Venture Impact Innovation calls for applications within the program
Call Preparatory projects next generation strategic innovation programs

Purpose and goal

The goal of the project was to lay the foundation for a programme within Impact innovation, based on the knowledge about the industry´s sustainable digital value system in the existing strategic innovation program PiiA and in the network of actors in both industry and academia that exist in and around the program. The project resulted in a proposal to Impact Innovation.

Expected results and effects

During the course of the project, the focus shifted from the industry´s sustainable digital value system to a more symbiotic perspective and the complete proposal "Industrial Symbiosis for Net Zero Transition” to Impact Innovation. The proposal for continued work focuses on the industrial transition where symbiosis between companies and between industry and society through an interconnected value system results in a high degree of utilization of energy and raw materials.

Planned approach and implementation

The project has been guided both by a broad reference group with representatives from both industry and academia, and by the SIP PiiA board of directors. During spring, a series of meetings and workshops were held to discuss the industry´s perspective on societal challenges and how to meet these while maintaining and preferably increasing competitiveness. During the autumn, frequent meetings took place with the reference group and with key stakeholders. The project has also participated in meetings and match-making activities arranged by the financiers.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
