Important results from the project

Market potential, business models, sustainability aspects and production methods were part of the project scope. The project was conducted and, apart from production methods (due to insufficient number of produced vehicles), the scope and targets can be regarded as fulfilled.

Expected long term effects

Cargo bike vehicles from Starke Cycles have been tested under real conditions with the cargo bike operator MOVEBYBiKE. The technical result is good, and confirms the conditions for a broader roll-out exist. Efficiency measurements were performed, and cargo capacity evaluated. The outcome supports that the expected results in a larger scale, can be obtained.

Approach and implementation

The market offer was investigated, by comparison to similar players, and this formed a basis. The investigation of how sustainability aspects affect the logistics industry show that this is placed high on the agenda with the majority of companies and stakeholders. Methods used include litteraturs studies of targeted magazines and foras, and interviews. A quality assured production was prepared by developing a quality system, product structures, manufacturing methods, komponentförsörjning och utvärderingar.
