Important results from the project
Swedish Society for Nature Conservation, SSNC has met the aim and objectives by developing an application for a project grant, to implement an innovation competition in environmental technologies with significant environmental potential relevant for association members and other partners. The focus has been on innovations with the target group that includes private households. The planning grant has been used to identify appropriate partners and to define the needs and which technology areas that should be covered in an application.
Expected long term effects
The project has resulted in an application regarding a project for the purpose of performing an innovation contest. The contest will focus on systems to help regulate the energy system in a private household. Hopefully it will add environmental value regarding energy efficiency by intelligent steering, and simplifying the process of microgeneration. By managing this contest, SSNC have expanded and gained new knowledge regarding innovation contests as a tool and method. Hopefully this experience will lead to future initiated contests in the area of environmental technology
Approach and implementation
The project has resulted in... 1. Identification of relevant problematic areas with high potential of environmental improvements focusing on private households. Performed through literature studys, market analysis and input from scientific expertise. 2. Selection of adequate area to approach in the contest and definition of goals. 3. Identification and contact with presumtive partners. 4. Formulation of the project plan and application for project fundings in consultation with experts in the area of innovation procurement or innovation contests.
