Important results from the project

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The students came from different subject areas and had varying degrees of knowledge about the mining industry. This led to good discussions and interaction with the company representatives during the study visits, with questions both on a detailed level and more general. Aim and objective of the project was that more people would open their eyes to the industry and what opportunities there are to work in it, and for this group of students it is likely that many can imagine working in the mining industry or nearby areas in the future.

Expected long term effects

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** It was a rewarding and positive trip with engaged students and knowledgeable people at the companies. The work that was done before, both with talking to the companies, planning arrangements, informing the students, etc. is the basis for the positive atmosphere and the appreciation we received from the participants. The trip enabled contacts between students and potential employers, and the organizers received good relevant information about what students think about the industry and what issues interest them most.

Approach and implementation

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The arrangement of visiting relatively many businesses over a few days worked well, even if it meant early mornings for everyone, it was thought to be worth it. The students were given several parts of the mining value chain, and also the opportunity to listen to some research presentations and networking during Mining@ORU, which many commented as positive in the evaluation (see appendix).
