Important results from the project
The project largely met the objectives regarding developing selected components of a partnership model between industry and healthcare regions for industry-initiated clinical trials. Some objectives were impacted by the Swedish Medical Products Agency´s concurrent government assignment, which unabled the project to fully achieve its objectives. The project provided a solid foundation for the exchange of experiences and ideas, and mutual understanding, which has led to continued collaborations.
Expected long term effects
The results are expected to lead to continued and enhanced collaborations regarding validation of the included results, as well as joint development in additional areas. We expect the SweTrial partnership to consider and build upon the results presented by the project, as these are the outcome of collaboration and joint progress among five key stakeholders. The results are expected to contribute to a sustainable partnership for industry-initiated clinical trials.
Approach and implementation
The project plan and application were jointly developed by the partners. The project was carried out with resources from all partners and consultant support. Continuous dialogues with steering and reference groups allowed them to follow the project´s progress. The project has been well-functioning and has adhered to budget and timelines. The Swedish Medical Products Agency´s concurrent government assignment complicated the project, but also increased its´ sense of relevance and priority.
