Purpose and goal

Swedish small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are crucial for national industrial competitiveness and play a central role in the transition to a climate-neutral economy. However, they often lag behind larger companies in adopting sustainable and circular methods. This project addresses the challenge of achieving the NZI goals by focusing on improving sustainability-related competencies among designers and others working in product development and innovation.

Expected effects and result

By collaborating with SMEs that act as test beds, the project will innovate, evaluate and compare learning formats that are particularly suited to supporting the skills development of industrial participants. The result for the companies is roadmaps that describe the skills development strategy to achieve their objective. Genom IUC Dalarna, the project results can be scaled up and reach SMEs in all regions of Sweden.

Planned approach and implementation

By following the principles of the Double Diamond Design Process, we will jointly create innovative learning concepts for competence development through collaboration that strengthen the ability of SMEs to develop the knowledge and skills required for their own transformation. The participating companies will collaborate with each other and support each other´s change processes for mutual learning and exchange of experiences.
