Purpose and goal

Smarter electronic systems contributes to the overall goals of the SIP investment, strengthened competitiveness and increased exports for Swedish business. The program works specifically for the electronics industry towards three objectives. 1) To increase collaboration and efficiency in the value chains. 2) Further development of national excellence in designated areas. 3) Securing the industry´s supply of skills. The program continues to focus on the three main areas, identified from the start, but has been expanded with another important perspective sustainability.

Expected effects and result

Results from the program´s FoI project are further developed into innovations and the increased efficiency in the value chains contributes to profitable growth for companies in prioritized areas. Sweden has both cutting edge and broad competence which is important for the electronic industry. Through competence-enhancing activities, the program also contributes to increased competence as well as enabling national and international networks. Investments in Swedish electronics systems also contribute to the transition to a sustainable and resilient society.

Planned approach and implementation

During stage 4, the program will continue to work with efforts to promote continued growth for companies in the Swedish electronics industry. The focus will be: - to increase the efficiency of the value chains by expanding and updating the program´s handbook Smartare Elektronikhandboken. - to continue supporting ongoing R&D project - to work on creating national and international networks - to continue to strengthen competence by working together with NTA and continue the conference activities.
