Purpose and goal

This project served to develop a video software for increased online sales. The goals were to (i) develop a minimal viable product, sufficiently advanced to verify the business idea, (ii) to conduct a beta study with representants from the target segment, and (iii) to package the product and find a suitable pricing model. The project took longer than expected, but all goals were met and that by a wide margin.

Expected results and effects

At the end of the project, there is an initial version of the video plattform, ready for use in e-commerce. We have experienced a positive reception from the market and will have to hire both developers and sales people to meet the demand. The product is technically advanced and can therefor face international competition. During the autumn, we will conduct a marketing campaign towards international publicists. We begin in September at IBC, Europe´s top conference for producers and broadcasters.

Planned approach and implementation

It was, in retrospect, a good idea to devote a lot of effort to packaging and market test. On the other hand, we were to optimistic when we estimated the time needed for the project. We had initial difficulties allocating human resources for the project, and once we had started we learnt that the target segment was more heterogenous than expected. This ment that we had to develop not only one but several ways to package the product. At the end of the day however, we had learnt a lot about the market that allowed us to refine the concept even more.
