Purpose and goal

Smart City Transformation Lab builds on results and experiences from Smart City Lab with a particular focus on organizational development and transformation linked to (IoT) data management. The main goal is to achieve an actual transition of “joint (IoT) data management capabilities” in participating municipalities, to leverage the potential of IoT as a tool for sustainable and smart societies. This requires an extensive organizational transformation, across the municipality´s operations.

Expected effects and result

By developing and packaging the IoT journey, the project contributes a concept, method and tools for moving towards joint municipal (IoT) data management. The municipalities and project partners hereby increase their ability to transform and utilize data. The project continues the SCL network, hereby ensuring knowledge sharing and joint learning. The long-term effect is that the project partners increase their ability to use data to address local and global challenges.

Planned approach and implementation

The project has 3 Work Packages: 1: Mobilizing arena: Communication, dissemination and anchoring 2: Organization and Transformation: Supporting the municipalities in taking the next step on their IoT journey 3: Project management, scaling and long-term business model The work packages run in parallel, with RISE as coordinator and the ambition to involve and activate all project parties in development of joint project results.
