Purpose and goal
SLU Holding AB´s mission is to create sustainable economic growth and improved societal development by initiating, supporting, developing, investing in or otherwise utilizing deeptech and knowledge-intensive innovations from SLU and other higher education institutions within the green sector.
The VFT funds contribute to achieving the goals by financing validation and verification activities, bringing ideas originating from academia closer to utilization more quickly and on a larger scale.
Expected effects and result
It is important for Sweden that knowledge-intensive and deeptech ideas from universities are commercialized and utilized to contribute to sustainable social development.
By testing the market potential of ideas (nationally and internationally), develop a commercial IP strategy and improving the possibility of attracting additional funding or increased interest from private or public actors, more ideas are expected to be utilized and competitive companies created.
Planned approach and implementation
By inspiring, advising, supporting and investing, SLU Holding offers researchers, other employees and students good support for innovation and utilization. We work with external monitoring, scouting and collaboration to match needs with the knowledge produced within SLU. VFT funds are used to gradually increase the maturity of projects through validation and verification of the ideas´ market potential and technical prerequisites as well as analysis and management of intellectual property rights.
