Purpose and goal
The project aims to enhance attractiveness, safety, community, and social capital in Fisksätra, which has been identified by the Police as a vulnerable area, by exploring the potential for an inclusive meeting place where Christians, Muslims, and Catholics cancome together side by side. Building on the established Guds Hus collaboration, the project examines the possibilities to develop, renovate, or extend existing facilities into a long-term sustainable social hub.
Expected effects and result
The outcomes include an analysis of challenges, a compilation of needs and priorities, and a concrete, visualised physical proposal through sketches, photographs and model-building. In the short term, it strengthens knowledge and trust among stakeholders. In the long term, the project can contribute to increased safety, reduced segregation, andstronger social cohesion, while providing a model for sustainable place-making in similar areas.
Planned approach and implementation
The project is implemented through dialogues with residents and local actors, supplemented with strategic analysis and research on interfaith meeting places. Needs, obstacles and opportunities are analyzed and translated into an anchored concept proposal with sketches, visualizations and a model for an inclusive meeting place. The results are documented in a report and film and disseminated through conferences, seminars and publications.
