Important results from the project

The project successfully achieved its set goals. Management, communication, dissemination, and exploitation activities were carried out through the project website (with contents), a LinkedIn channel (with posts), and so on. Journal and conference papers, and popular science outputs (in both written and video formats) were published, after demonstrating Product-as-a-Service (PaaS) for efficient use of critical raw materials (CRMs), including a sustainability assessment from the three pillars.

Expected long term effects

The expected long-term impacts include: i) advancement of raw material-related sectors through PaaS at both the Swedish and European levels, ii) increased innovation capacity, access to new markets, improved competitiveness, and enhanced policy and regulatory frameworks, iii) development of solutions and services, including those based on life cycle analysis approaches, and iv) strengthened collaboration involving Swedish organizations in European-level research and innovation initiatives.

Approach and implementation

The project plan included: i) coordination of the overall ERA-MIN3 project, involving seven partners from six EU countries outside Sweden, and ii) execution of a sustainability assessment. The overall implementation proceeded smoothly, with planned activities effectively carried out. During the project, we identified the high complexity of the cost analysis and observed strong interest in material flow analysis. In response, both analyses were performed. The collaboration functioned well.
