Purpose and goal
By injecting granules into a fuel oil tank, partly filled with oil, the oil will be transformed into a third, rubberlike product. Before injecting the granulate, a thorough pre survey and registration of the vessels position and x, y, z data, must be executed. This first survey part, called “mapping” is the actual “PROJECT” executed under cooperation with “Vinnova Phase 1”
Expected results and effects
Our ”Mapping method” has shown to function throughout the whole process. From the advanced 3D-point clouds to FFF-modelling & VR-platforms onwards to exact coordinates for drilling and erecting of the transducer, prior to registration of tank content. Tens of thousands of wrecks can now be documented with their exact position and x,y,z-grid, via the use of ROV technique
Planned approach and implementation
The ”collecting of data”-process, executed by Clinton AB, has resulted in 3D-point clouds, convertible to data for industrial processing. Semcon AB has executed the next coming part of the method, by converting the point cloud into production of FFF-models, VR-platforms and x,y,z-coordinates/grids. Finally, Kongsberg Maritime AS has developed the method for its ROV based transducer to fit the concept. Once in position it will deliver the desired input, which will allow the project owner to decide upon next step.
