Call Standardization as a tool for increased competitiveness

Important results from the project

SacsiN has achieved its goal to create a digital industry independent data exchange methodology for interchanging sustainability and compliance information based on existing standards. Using the method enhances the competitiveness of Swedish companies for transparency regarding their products. SacsiN also provides correct information to calculate the CO2 impact with measurements throughout the supplier network. With SacsiN buyers can choose the “sustainable and safe product option” based on facts.

Expected long term effects

The SacsiN method can be used by companies of any size and industry world-wide. The unique logic provides traceability, on a product level in the supplier network, from “Tier 1 to the mine”. Digitalization of the data exchange creates large cost savings. The SacsiN method was conceptually tested by the largest project member and one of its main suppliers. By using a project developed testing software the method can send requests and receiving responses for exchanging sustainability and compliance information.

Approach and implementation

The SacsiN project has, together with 20 members from 14 companies and public authorities within different areas and industries, conducted 9 main workshops in order to generate documentation and to develop the SacsiN methodology. Third party advice and design were received regarding technology and software development. The SacsiN project plan included 8 work packages which have all been delivered on time and budget.
