Purpose and goal

RTS is focused on a robust and reliable transport system, which is attractive, secure, sustainable and effective. RTS provides guidance for: 1. Improved economic, societal, & environmental efficiency A yearly potential well above one billion kronor (SEK) 2. Reduction of disruptions A decrease of more than two thirds within five years after implementation of solutions developed within RTS´s core activities 3. Enhanced collaboration & cooperation - The transport sector actors are working within an incentive-driven triple helix with a holistic system perspective

Results and expected effects

Potential for growth in the Swedish, European and global industry and society. Improved economic, societal, and environmental efficiency. Reduction of disruptions in the transport system. Enhanced collaboration and cooperation between transport stakeholders. Increased export of research, technologies and services related to diagnostics and prognostics in connection with the design, construction, operation and maintenance of the transport system. Dual-use of solutions in other industrial sectors (e.g. mining, energy, aviation, and pulp and paper).

Approach and implementation

The project has been implemented in accordance with the project plan. In the project a smaller group was responsible for the editing of the texts of the agenda. The texts have been examined in substance and language, the final document has been processed for graphic design. Thanks to a large group of stakeholders, the project has always had access to dialogue and reconciliation, even when participation in the meetings has varied. The attendance around the basic problems and improvement needs has been unanimous and forceful. Participation in meetings has been committed and constructive.
