Purpose and goal

Aim: An increased use of XR in industrial learning provides better conditions for Swedish industry to meet the growing need for skills and thereby maintain its competitiveness. Objective: By providing Swedish industry with decision-making data, guidelines and validated demonstrators for when, how and why XR technology should be applied in industrial learning, the threshold for companies to implement XR technology on a large scale is lowered and the need for costly pilot studies is reduced.

Expected effects and result

Expected results: Generic framework for effective industrial XR learning and long-term anchoring on industrial training and process flows. Method development for verification of learning and knowledge transfer in XR. Two solutions with built-in validation of learning for XR platforms. Verification of results through seven demonstrators evaluated with five parties. Effects: Provide Swedish industry with when, how and why XR technology is used for industrially validated learning.

Planned approach and implementation

Develop XR tools with validation jointly, academia, industry and software developers. Develope framework for scalable XR training, evaluate these in demonstrators and validate that the XR platform provides the desired learning. Disseminate the results in the form of "go to market" plan with the solution after the project, and publish a handbook on how this can be realized, as well as scientific publications on how XR can be used to generate scalable learning environments in an industry context.
