Important results from the project

We have raised awareness of the importance of integrating responsible internationalisation into education-related processes, including establishing and renewing partnerships, securing mobility and hosting international visitors. By integrating risk assessments into existing processes and tools for initial assessment, we have created a more sustainable and efficient structure with a common foundation that leads to informed and secure decisions, and strengthens transparency and collaboration.

Expected long term effects

Integrating responsible internationalisation within existing processes strengthens the long-term ability to make more conscious and secure decisions and that awareness is spread across the university. A common ground for broad use contributes to increased competence in responsible internationalisation. Collaboration with other institutions through the project increased clarity about how existing networks can be used for support which enables more exchanges of experience and closer collaboration.

Approach and implementation

Benchmarking analysis of several Swedish and European universities, focusing on decision-making processes, the use of checklists, tools, assessments, etc., followed by document analysis focused on educational collaborations. Conducted study visits to two Swedish universities and one European university that already have established processes. We have organized workshops to share lessons learned, conduct case studies, and practice risk assessments with the help of an external part.
