Call Advanced digitalization: System-changing initiatives, pre-study project 2025

Purpose and goal

The project aims to establish large-scale collaboration with a regulatory sandbox enabling industry stakeholders to test and develop innovations for digitalization and electrification. The goal is to identify scalable and sustainable solutions that support the construction and energy industries´ need for stable energy supply and new network services. The large urban development project at Årstafältet will be a testbed to test and validate concepts that may transform the construction industry.

Expected effects and result

To accelerate the construction industry´s transformation, a number of strategic measures are required. The feasibility study will result in an implementation plan for a regulatory sandbox. A list of analyzed and ranked measures, agreed with relevant stakeholders, will be developed and a demonstration of a some measures will be included in a project plan. Successful implementation is expected to contribute to a digitalized, electrified and resource-efficient construction industry.

Planned approach and implementation

The project is structured around a common approach that encompasses system-changing aspects: digitalisation, socio-technical, regulatory, business models, sustainability and gender. The work will focus on operational layers such as network services, machinery and people, as well as testbeds such as Årstafältet. The project will be implemented in four work packages and will benefit from methods such as workshops, seminars and reference groups, involving both internal and external actors.
