Coordinator Tekniska Högskolan i Jönköping AB
Funding from Vinnova SEK 10 295 755
Project duration November 2025 - November 2028
Status Ongoing
Venture Circularity - FFI
Call Cirkularitet FFI - fall 2025

Purpose and goal

Purpose: To drive a shift in mindset from linear to circular production by combining reconfigurable technology with circular practices and long-term collaboration Goals: Support the transition from linear to circular thinking within organizations Create support and guidelines for design and development Deepen the use of digital models and AI for circular production Establish structures for reuse and refurbishment of production equipment Develop models for collaboration throughout the value chain

Expected effects and result

REFUSE 2.0 aims to deepen the understanding of how reconfigurability and circularity can be integrated into development, investment, and use of production systems. The focus is on verifying and applying results generated in REFUSE, but also on developing new research results with industrial application as a starting point. Outcomes include technical solutions and virtual models for circular production, as well as routines, working methods, LCA/LCC, and scenario analysis as supporting tools.

Planned approach and implementation

The project is divided into work packages consisting of industrial cases at each company. Each case addresses a real industrial challenge in line with the project´s aim. All work packages are permeated by a number of knowledge areas that will be explored in the project. An interactive research approach will be applied in the project to ensure both scientific relevance and industrial usability. The cases are driven by the companies themselves, which means that results will be used directly.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
