Reference number
Coordinator IVL Svenska Miljöinstitutet AB
Funding from Vinnova SEK 300 000
Project duration October 2025 - January 2026
Status Ongoing
Venture Global cooperation 2025
Call Planning grant for international proposal 2025

Purpose and goal

The planning project coordinates Swedish partners´ funding for the development and demonstration of decision support systems that monitor emissions from ships and port activities in the Port of Gothenburg and analyze data to make it easier for ship operators, authorities and ports to take measures to meet statutory emission limits and national environmental objectives regarding air quality as part of the proposal to Horizon call CL5-2025-01-D5-17.

Expected effects and result

Development of the Gothenburg case study as a central building block in the main project where implementation of systems in TEN-T ports and activities that strengthen the EU´s "Climate City Contract” (CCC) are central to the call for proposals as the Port of Gothenburg is an TEN-T core port and the city participates in the EU mission Climate Neutral and Smart Cities.

Planned approach and implementation

The case study is developed through dialogue between participants in the Planning Project and the rest of the consortium. Systems and data available at the City of Gothenburg and the Port are analyzed and the need for their further development within the framework of the Main Project is identified. In collaboration with other partners in the Main Project, an efficient implementation of selected tools in Gothenburg is planned that would support work with climate and air quality goals.
