Important results from the project
The main project goals have been achieved. Several camera-based robot control solutions from different suppliers were compared and verified, with the most promising integrated into the RiFLEX software. During development, Odigo tested and provided feedback, improving UI and usability. The final product was showcased at Automatica in June. The project also fostered further collaboration and a new project application.
Expected long term effects
The RiFLEX platform makes new automation technology more accessible and usable without requiring expertise. It also facilitates decisions on automation investments by relying on standard solutions where hardware can be exchanged and adapted to customer needs. In the long term, this strengthens Swedish industry and increases the competitiveness of manufacturing companies.
Approach and implementation
The planning worked well, though programming took longer than expected. This was not unforeseen, and collaboration proceeded as planned. The schedule was kept. From Odigo’s side, less time was available for testing due to extended development and software implementation. The extra time was instead spent on developing the two test cells that were then demonstrated at Automatica. The trade fair was a success and a good end to the project.
