Project duration September 2022 - April 2023
Status Completed
Venture SWElife, strategic project

Important results from the project

The necessary and sufficient conditions for enhancing Swedish healthcare utilization of quantum life science-based technologies are identified, summarized, and disseminated in Report and Presentation drafts “Quantum for Health”. The results and plans for next steps were presented in an open seminar 2023-06-16 and will be discussed at the next Swedish University Hospital Director’s Network meeting in August. The Report has been delivered to the members of the Swedish Quantum Life Science Centre.

Expected long term effects

The project Report and Presentation drafts detail the Swedish healthcare and Quantum Life Science perspectives, the Discovery Accelerator partnership between Cleveland Clinic and IBM, the history of the field and its implications for society, as well as the ongoing activities in Sweden. The Swedish Quantum Life Science Centre will use them in their continued efforts to inform on strategic decisions at the national and regional levels, thereby securing Sweden’s leadership in the field.

Approach and implementation

The Report and Presentation are the result of Jiro Kawakita (KJ-) analyses of 23 interviews with Swedish healthcare leadership and Quantum Life Science Network representatives. A scoping review was carried with unstructured literature searches. Cleveland Clinic and IBM were engaged, with a larger information exchange between leaders of their Discovery Accelerator and Swedish stakeholders. The project presentation and workshop focused on next steps for utilization of the Report and Presentation.
