Important results from the project

The goal was to develop sustainable mobility solutions for commuting and leisure travel in Ånge Municipality, with users’ needs at the center. We created a portfolio of concepts aligned with our 2030 vision; in the long term, we aim to establish a permanent, integrated transport ecosystem. Six initial concepts led to nine investigation scenarios, analysed using key parameters. The “leisure bus” prototype was co-designed with guardians and young people and will be piloted in autumn 2025.

Expected long term effects

The project´s solutions support Ånge Municipality´s objective of growth, attractive housing and sustainable industry. On-demand traffic and a leisure bus will strengthen commuting, local accessibility and social inclusion. The efforts promote 10-minute commutes, green transition and sustainable communities and living environments for the residents of Ånge. To realize the vision, continued investigation, pilot tests and involvement of residents and decision-makers are required.

Approach and implementation

Start-up in Ånge in June 2024 with 3 IUS, 3 municipality and 4 Din Tur-deltagare. Weekly project group meetings were held, scenarios are being investigated continuously. Telephone interviews with guardians and young people were conducted in December, the prototype map and 3D models were produced Dec–Jan. Ongoing dialogue was conducted with, among others, Länstrafiken Jämtland and K2. A long-term absence of the municipal contact affected the schedule and implementation somewhat.
