Important results from the project

The goal of using a systematic and professional process analysis to produce an action plan for an automated 3D weaving line for the production of carbon fiber noodles has been achieved. With Biteam´s experience together with KTH, which has been involved in building the previous laboratory machines, and Consat, a professional machine consulting company, we have produced a process analysis and identified and solved certain critical elements.

Approach and implementation

The project began with a physical start-up meeting / workshop. Then web-based meetings with all participants in different places with difficulty to physically show the different steps of the manufacturing process. Each critical sub-process was discussed and analyzed with alternative solutions. Simple tests were performed by Biteam´s staff, but new could not be manufactured or tested components could be tested. Everything was summarized in a requirements specification that will be the basis for the design work. Some solutions or selection of solutions will be patent pending.
