Purpose and goal

This projects aims to implement phase 2 by achieving: 1. An industrial national leadership and collaboration platform for the area. 2. Coordinated projects and networking activities with R&D environments at universities that are identified as particularly strong and relevant to the area. 3. Coordinated and implemented coordinated training efforts with both industrial and research partners. 4. Substantial investments in national R&D programs in this area. 5. The project as a pilot project for Strategic Innovation programs.

Results and expected effects

The results and impact that the project wanted to achieve, and fulfilled was 1 An industrial national leadership This was achieved with a strong industrial participation and focus on the industrial challenges. 2- A national collaboration platform for projects, networks, skills, and RDI programs in Process industrial IT and automation. This resulted in the PiiA-organization started and built from the founding FUI-environments.

Approach and implementation

The project was conducted in the following manner. - For each target, define responsibilities (distributed and including several RDI environments) as well as activities that meet the purpose for the target. - Build the project so that it gets a strong national commitment. - Already during this phase start to work and engage those that will participate in the proposed organization and thus build up the organisation, ongoing, throughout the project, so that is up and running when the project is finished
