Important results from the project

The pilot study has resulted in the packaging of 3 innovation support models that make it possible for deep-tech innovations to be developed & the commercial conditions to be validated, within the framework of the universities´ operations, for a longer period of time, before a company needs to be established. The work included analysis of the economic conditions for the implementation of the models. On a recurring basis, the project partners have met to exchange lessons learned and experiences.

Expected long term effects

In the long term, the pilot study can lead to establishment of new innovation support models that strengthen the ability to take innovations from lab to market. This requires new forms of support that allow researchers to verify research results using infrastructures at universities, build relevant skills & capabilities, & secure relevant IP, before commercialization is required. This lays the foundation for more robust startups to be established, with better conditions to stay & grow in Sweden.

Approach and implementation

The pilot study work has been divided into several work packages. Each university has put together its own project group that has carried out the work based on local conditions. Continuous contact between the project leaders has made it possible to identify common areas where the project parties can advantageously collaborate in their development. On a recurring basis, experience meetings have been held where the parties have exchanged lessons learned and experiences with each other.
