Important results from the project
The project fulfilled its primary objective to map and identify the needs and challenges of deeptech startups and the role of incubators in supporting them. Insights from the project have led to a shift, where greater focus in the future should be placed on a common platform for networks, resources and knowledge related to, among other, test beds, funding and skills support. The results show an interest in a wider network that also enables deepened co-incubation and international connection.
Expected long term effects
New forms of cooperation and a platform adapted for incubators and deeptech startups can make it easier for them to get access to specialized expertise, international contacts, possible financing options and project, as well as relevant testing environments at an early stage. A future development project could streamline incubators´ work, enable co-incubation to a greater degree, and increase access to relevant information and knowledge for deeptech startups in critical phases.
Approach and implementation
The project followed the plan, focusing on mapping needs and challenges for customized tools and training modules. For data collection, interviews were conducted with incubators, and questionnaires were sent to deeptech startups. The collected data was analyzed to identify challenges and needs. The collaboration with incubators and other actors was successful, and no external factors negatively affected the project. Data collection took longer than planned, but provided important insights.
