Important results from the project
The main goal of the project was to submit a proposal to EIC Pathfinder Open 2025-the call for proposals in the field of ultra-secure quantum communication based on quantum entanglement, where Linköping University is coordinator with a total of 7 partners. The proposal was submitted successfully, and new opportunities for collaboration have arisen within the formed consortium.
Expected long term effects
If the EIC Pathfinder application is granted, the project will be implemented over four years and lead to new innovations in the field of quantum communication, which will directly benefit Swedish and European universities and industry. Otherwise, this project has contributed to forming a cohesive consortium that is already exploring other funding opportunities to independently realize some of the ideas proposed in the proposal.
Approach and implementation
The project was coordinated by LiU, which led the preparation and submission of the Pathfinder proposal. LiU also coordinated a physical workshop with all partners where the project´s research plan was finalized and approved. RISE conducted proof-of-principle tests of the main technical components to be used in the project, which strengthened the proposal.
