Status Ongoing

Call Planning grant for international proposal 2024

Purpose and goal

The project supports the preparation of a proposal to EU Pathfinder Open 2025-the call for proposals, consisting of a consortium where Linköping University is coordinator and the partners are RISE, Lund University, Padova University (Italy) and Seville University (Spain). The goal of the proposal is to develop an ultra-secure communication system based on quantum technologies, with key hardware components developed in Sweden.

Expected effects and result

The expected results are an improved proposal to the call for proposals compared to our previous effort in 2024. Vinnovas funding will allow more dedicated time to prepare proposal as well as some preliminary proof-of-concept experimental results to strengthen the feasibility of the project application. We also expect improved synergistic work among consortium members through a joint workshop.

Planned approach and implementation

Vinnova´s funding will be used to ensure more time to write the proposal, together with a joint workshop in Linköping with the consortium partners to discuss and better plan the proposal. In addition, we will conduct proof-of-principle experimental demonstrations of poled optical fiber modulators that are critical to the project´s implementation.
