Important results from the project

Goal: "To design & anchor a proposal for tax deductions for cultivation-related services aimed at private individuals to strengthen food security" The goal has been partially met, but we have concluded that there are more effective ways to stimulate private cultivation. Results: - Increased knowledge of obstacles and conditions - Concrete proposals aimed at municipalities and the state - The proposals are anchored in cultivation organizations - Initial anchoring with municipalities and politics

Expected long term effects

The role of private farming in Swedish food security is recognized and strengthened by - Municipalities´ work on food security is developed together with recreational farming. - Public initiatives to strengthen recreational farming are initiated and implemented. - Civil society organization is strengthened through national, regional and local collaboration. - An effort to strengthen the role of private farming in food security. - Increased knowledge among more people about self-sufficiency.

Approach and implementation

Collection of knowledge and experiences as a basis for developing proposals through a large number of interviews and surveys of growers, politicians, researchers and municipalities. The results were processed and contributed to the development of proposals aimed at the state and municipalities. The proposals have been discussed with representatives of organizations, politicians and municipalities. They have been summarized in a report and distributed at fairs, conferences and a webinar.
