Important results from the project

Yes. A competitive proposal for EIC PathFinder 2024 (attached as Appendix) based on colloidal aminated porous liquids (CAPLs) for CO2 capture processes had been made thanks to the Vinnova project. The project´s scientific outcome and developed strong EU expert consortium are aiding in two ongoing proposals. The developed network on decarbonization offers invaluable potential for future joint national and EU-project applications, moving forward the advancements in CCS technologies.

Expected long term effects

The insights gained on CAPLs will support the development of CAPLs-based CO2 capture processes, enabling effective, energy-saving and sustainable technologies and advancing carbon neutrality. The decarbonization consortium will secure national and EU funds to build up CCS/CCU centers, boosting research, education, and industrial innovation. Strengthened academia-industry interactions will bridge gaps, facilitating the transfer of fundamental CCS/CCU research to industrial applications.

Approach and implementation

The project includes four work packages with clear timelines for building up the CAPLs consortium, conducting tests, and preparing proposals. One proposal was submitted for the EIC PathFinder Call 2024, with two more underway. Two successful workshops enhanced CCS/CCU research. The project followed the timeline and concluded successfully despite Dr. Jing Ai´s parental leave. It fostered strong collaborations with industry partners, providing a solid foundation for future research and innovation.
