Funding from Vinnova SEK 215 000
Project duration October 2016 - December 2017
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

The project aims at making visible the political leadership´s special needs for action policy innovation management. After research with the target group, a prototype of a training module was developed that was tested with different target groups by local politicians. Based on experience of test and feedback from the target group, a user-driven innovation module has been developed for policy and management. The effort will be offered through the range of support offered by SKL´s Innovation Guide.

Expected results and effects

The project has developed a training module for politicians through the support of the Innovation Guide. In the education, the target group receives insights into service design and how to develop the public mission with residents. In parallel, SKL has developed a web-based support for politicians. The focus of the material is other politicians who worked with user-driven innovation. The support consists of reports, interviews and comments that will serve as inspirational and input material. SKL will assemble a module for politicians and offer it through Innovationsguiden.se

Planned approach and implementation

The work was based on an analysis and acquisition of knowledge from the current target group. An education prototype was developed and tested with politicians. After adjustments, three municipalities were offered similar efforts. In the end, two test courses were conducted, the third was set due to storms. With the support of consultants, a web-based inspiration material has been developed and published on SKL.se. In the autumn of 2017 the work was presented at Politikerdagarna in Gothenburg. The project has led to a widening of Innovationsguidens support to an important target group.
