Important results from the project

Aim: Prioritize and through practical experiments evaluate instruments and other possible interventions to reduce the environmental impact from consumption of food, household goods and textiles. Fulfillment of aim: Prioritization and evaluation have been implemented. Objective: Prioritize a limited number of extra interesting new policy instruments, and for at least three of these to make experiments that provide valuable information about their function. Fulfillment of objective: Prioritization has taken place, and experiments have been carried out.

Expected long term effects

The project has resulted in the following (i.a.): Experiences in the project group of working according to policy lab methodology. Documented experimental results that indicate how the prioritized instruments could work in practice. Expected effects of the project include: Project participants have increased ability to use policy lab metodology in their future work. Policy instrument ideas that were tested in the project have been given a background material that makes them more likely to be implemented in a well-functioning way.

Approach and implementation

Overall, the layout and implementation was as described in the project application, and judged to be successful. In terms of time, the project had a narrow framework, and it is possible that a longer implementation time would have been favorable, not least in the initial part of the project where policy ideas were generated and prioritized. In the latter part of the project, it could have been interesting to use the experiences from the experiments to modify the policy ideas and test them again. Being able to include other actors in the experiments could also have been valuable.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
