Important results from the project
The planning project achieved its goals with the successful submission of the GRASSP proposal to the 2025 FutureFoodS Partnership call. The main project seeks to scale up grass-based protein production and integrate it into the EU food system through a solid work plan, active stakeholder involvement, and a strong international consortium. The process also enhanced EU policy alignment, embedded cross-cutting principles, and boosted Sweden’s capacity to lead future EU research initiatives.
Expected long term effects
The main project is expected to generate long-term impact by building transnational collaboration, aligning with EU strategies, and strengthening Swedish capacity in food systems research. The planning project positioned the consortium to contribute to future EU research on sustainable food systems, green biorefineries, and circular bioeconomy, especially through stakeholder-driven approaches.
Approach and implementation
The planning project was successfully carried out as planned, following the proposed structure, activities, and timeline. Despite the short timeframe, early and regular coordination ensured smooth progress and risk mitigation. All planned tasks —proposal development, implementation planning, stakeholder engagement, and communication strategy—were completed on time. Collaboration across partners worked well, and no major disruptions occurred.
