Purpose and goal

The objective with this project was to validate and evaluate technical solutions for instrument design and commercialization of the next generation instruments for peptide synthesis, develop adequate production methods, and prepare for CE-certifications. Proof of concept was achieved in step 1 with a prototype that works well. PeptiSystems has to prove that the technology, components, and software will work well in the final product that can be CE-certified and produced with a constant high quality.

Expected effects and result

The project has resulted in a final design of the instrument, developed together with an engineering company, SVEKON. Based on this design, most of the work involved in generation of drawings has been completed. Work with documentation for CE-certification has been initiated but will not be completed until October 2019. The result of the work with the final instrument design is very satisfactory. Emphasis has been placed on development of an ergonomic and aesthetically appealing design. The final design has been presented to a few customers and the reception has been very positive.

Planned approach and implementation

The project, done together with an engineering company, SVEKON was divided into three different phases. 1.Development of a conceptual instrument design together with drawings to validate technical solutions 2.Development of production methods for future manufacturing 3.Generation of documentation for CE-certification Phase one and two together have been delayed with 2 months due to certain additions and modifications that had to be done to the final instrument design
