Important results from the project
The goal of the project was to be able to present figures on how well a circular solution, with our revenue distribution business model, compares to today´s linear ones. This has been fulfilled well and developed further in the form of new impact objective and metrics in order to be able to both drive development over time and follow up on the actual impact that has been created. Ex. for the stroller segment, we can determine that the reduction in CO2e from our rental model is at least 60% for 4 rental periods. When we reach 8 rentals, we have a CO2e reduction of 90% compared to today´s linear models.
Expected long term effects
A comprehensive model has been developed where different scenarios have been created and which will form the basis when we change processes, bring in new products, etc. The data included for the model is based on published LCAs on products and own measurements of the impact of different processes on sustainability parameters. Several areas for continued impact measurements have also been defined. The effects have a direct impact on our activities both towards customers and investors. Work continues in completing new material to inform our customers about the value of our services.
Approach and implementation
Our business concept is based on sustainability, where we drive the transition with circular and resource-efficient services. At the same time, sustainability is a complex concept that requires deep and broad analyzes to really know that the total effect leads to a more sustainable society. We have learned a lot about this and developed various impact areas accordingly. Users/customers are and will be clearly decisive in realizing our business model´s positive effects (how they handle products and the length of rental periods) - something that continued work will be about.
