Project duration June 2012 - November 2013
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

Wattguard on Fluorescent tubes Market potential goal is in Sweden 4% per year, 2013, we believe we achieve 3%. Portugal, Denmark and a in Norway is opened. Wattguard towards High Pressure Sodium One installation is made but further development is abandoned. Wattguard towards Metalhalogen Is a smaller market, but important in i.e development of greenhouse lightning We are more employees in the Group. Our information / marketing strategy now include collaborations, besides Vinnova, with Tillväxtverket, ALMI, Nopef and Energimyndigheten. Green growth: Savings up to 40% on energy

Results and expected effects

Our new cabinet is ready for production. WG works on most types of fluorescent light and most types of ballasts, but we have focused on fluorescent tubes were we have the best results. Businesses can now be done, technically, on smaller facilities, less than 22.5 kW (down to 250w) but the part of profitability is not yet solved, we probably need another business model to do this. Regarding the IP, we expected to use the option to buy the patents but the answer was instead a merging. Patents went to WattGuard and the former patent owner is now one of the shareholders in the company.

Approach and implementation

We are satisfied with our project. Unexpected but positive results in development is installation in new buildings and the growing frequency of replacements of the lighting fixtures including installation of wg:s and the role Portugal have had. Equipment will be needed (it was true). Others showing how difficult planning is; The laboratory in Jönköping JTH (Lund has been the location) Speed of Borås will assist with product development (Eltecno Vellinge partnered us mostly) Swedish WG Energi AB the parent company (Watt Guard International is the new parent company of the Group).
