Important results from the project

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** Norrlandsmodellen is based on the challenges facing the world: a rampant climate crisis, an increasingly clear global uncertainty that requires increased local robustness, and a transition to a digitalized world that requires new business models, forms of collaboration and an updated democracy. Our interdisciplinary team provides suggestions for broad system changes, collaboration models and how food systems can be used as an urban planning tool. Our presentation should be seen as a vision and a platform for a process for the future.

Expected long term effects

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The team´s conversations, meetings, texts and sketches have resulted in the presentation: Umeå - The X, the districts and a process for the future The compilation is available on the Council for Sustainable Cities´ website. The material was also presented at the project´s final presentation on 20 May and at a public event at ArkDes 14 June.

Approach and implementation

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The process began with a start-up meeting in which all teams, municipalities, authorities as well as the advisory board and several other actors participated. The goal was to clarify aim and objective with the process and that the teams would be able to present themselves and get to know the municipalities´ case on site. Between 31/3 and 3/5 there was time for the team´s reflection and sketching. Results from conversations, meetings, texts and sketches resulted in the presentation: Umeå - the X, the districts and a process for the future.
