Important results from the project

The goal of the project was to create a consortium of academic and non-academic partners to prepare and develop a proposal for the Horizon Europe call HORIZON-HLTH-2022-DISEASE-07-03 Non-communicable diseases risk reduction in adolescence and youth. The goal was met and proposal was approved by the European Commission

Expected long term effects

This project intends to design, implement and evaluate a community-based intervention to address risk factors for chronic diseases in adolescence and youth. We expect to improve mental wellbeing which will be measured using validated tools and from a cost-effectiveness perspective. The European Commission has approved the proposal and the project has started in 2023. The project is currently in the formative phase in which the consortium is preparing the intervention for the design phase.

Approach and implementation

An international consortium of partners was established and we developed a proposal for the call HORIZONHLTH- 2022-DISEASE-07-03 Non-communicable diseases risk reduction in adolescence and youth. The proposal was granted by the European Commission. The initial phase of the project has started and we are preparing the co-design and contextualization of an intervention for children and adolescents where they will be part of the full co-creation process and that will be adapted to their needs and expectations. Finally, we will implement and evaluate the intervention.
