Purpose and goal

In summary, all work packages were completed successfully. We could prove that it is possible to decouple the illumination from the detection optical pathway for TIRF based microscopy. This resulted in a highly advantageous bioanalytical platform that is addressing several currently unmet needs of researchers in drug discovery.

Expected results and effects

With the successful completion of all work packages InSingulo has a working prototype that includes all functionalities to validate the unique and advantageous properties that our technology offers for the development targeting membrane proteins. Furthermore, we could demonstrate that our solution also allows to apply our method for drug development methods such as fragment-based drug discovery that provide more challenges for the biophysical methods.

Planned approach and implementation

Overall, the final result exceeds the initial expectations and goals. Within this project we find already solutions we anticipated to achieve in the future of the product development. The here found implementation of a new biosensor offers an advantageous dimension, better ability for thermal management and better use of the shelf components. Thereby, the product development will be significantly improved. During the project we encounter several difficulties to find reliable suppliers but the results of the project helps to mitigate this risk in the future.
