Important results from the project

The proposal "ARTEMYS- Adaptable and Reusable Technologies for buildings Evolution Maximising Life-cYcle and Sustainability" was submitted to the EU´s Horizon Europe. The project aims to improve the adaptability of buildings, increase the reuse and recycling of building elements, extend buildings´ lifespan, and raise awareness of best practices. The consortium consists of 21 partners including associated partners from Sweden, Finland, the Netherlands, Croatia, Italy, Belgium, France and Uruguay.

Expected long term effects

The methodology makes buildings more energy and resource-efficient with reduced environmental impact while considering costs and social parameters. There is great interest in timber buildings in Europe to reduce climate impact. The potential exists to build more multi-story buildings and develop new renovation solutions. This contributes to reduced carbon dioxide emissions through carbon storage in long-lived timber buildings and reduced fossil dependency through alternative construction methods

Approach and implementation

An overall idea was presented to participants and stakeholders to find partners for the consortium. The compilation of ideas, competencies, etc was done through regular meetings, discussions and digital workshops. This became the basis for the proposal. At the same time, support for administration and budgeting was developed. The Proposal was written collectively together. The schedule was difficult to keep because the information, such as budget documents or PIC codes, was not submitted on time

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
