Reference number
Coordinator Lindholmen Science Park AB - AI Sweden
Funding from Vinnova SEK 2 500 000
Project duration December 2022 - April 2024
Status Completed

Important results from the project

The purpose of the project was to modernize and improve the conversation/dialogue between industry, municipalities, authorities, citizens, etc. regarding Sweden´s future energy and electricity system. The goal of the project was to create a first version of a national technical platform for energy and grid-related modeling and analysis tools with a focus on the continued expansion and electrification of Swedish industry. The goal is fulfilled through https://www.behovskartan.se/.

Expected long term effects

The result of the project is the Behovskartan. An expected effect was to try to get the energy companies to start using AI techniques in their operations, but here we have only seen minor effects. An overall expected effect of the project was that the conversation between the actors would be improved through the tool. According to the interviews we conducted with actors, this has partially improved, but the majority of actors highlight that the great value only comes when the tool is developed.

Approach and implementation

An overall principle in the implementation of the project has been to try to identify those who have come the farthest and to try to cooperate with them. This has resulted in us being able to use knowledge, research and development from a number of different organisations. A major challenge throughout the project has been to obtain information and data from existing energy companies/electricity companies. The implementation has been characterized by design-driven methods to reach the end users.
