Important results from the project

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** With the objective of developing a support for decision-makers in the infection control work against the covid-19 pandemic, the MOVIn project created a data-generated prediction model for hospital admissions and the rate of infection spread (reproduction rate). The model was included in CRUSH Covid´s weekly reports that assisted regional management, infection control, the County Administrative Board and the public with weekly reports that mapped the spread of infection and formed a decision-making basis for targeted infection control efforts.

Expected long term effects

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The MOVIn model was successfully validated against other data sources and retrospectively against actual hospitalization and mortality. The scientific work with the prediction model was included as two partial works in a thesis at Uppsala University.

Approach and implementation

MOVIn was an important part of CRUSH Covid whose weekly reports were reproduced every week regionally on radio, TV and newspapers, as well as regularly on a national level. The project formed an important part of the region´s decision-making basis for targeted infection prevention efforts.
