Important results from the project
** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The project´s aim was to improve cooperation between Canadian and Swedish organizations and lay the foundation for a joint development project. The development project´s aim is to take advantage of opportunities with residual heat from mining operations to supply nearby communities with heating, cooling and electricity. Both Canadian and Swedish partners were positive about a closer collaboration and saw benefits in the form of business opportunities, research collaboration and being able to contribute to a sustainable energy transformation.
Expected long term effects
** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The project resulted in two digital workshops where Swedish and Canadian actors gained increased knowledge about, above all: - Swedish know-how in the recovery of residual heat - opportunities regarding the recovery of residual heat from Canadian mines - related knowledge about Swedish and Canadian research organizations - interest and role of various actors about a project about recovering waste heat from mines.
Approach and implementation
Preparation of workshop 1´s content and participants Implementation of workshop 1 Preparation of workshop 2´s content and participants Implementation of workshop 2 Individual discussions with Swedish and Canadian actors regarding the possibility of proceeding with a development project. Analysis: The arrangement worked well for the actors to get to know each other and to find opportunities around a joint development project. A lesson learned is to secure crucial partners in a collaboration at an earlier stage so that the project does not fail because an individual actor withdraws.
