Purpose and goal
Minc is a startup house established to drive innovation and growth in Malmö. Minc have 3 programs: the pre-incubator Startup Labs, Minc incubator and the accelerator Fast Track Malmö. The purpose of the project is to develop Minc’s growth-creating incubator program for young and innovative companies in active collaboration with other innovation actors with the entrepreneurs in focus. The goals are to attracts more high-capacity entrepreneurs for incubation and more efficiently and in a shorter time build growth companies that solve societal important challenges in a better way.
Expected effects and result
One goal is to increase the support to companies that can contribute to a better tomorrow, and an intermediate goal is to increase the proportion of impact companies in the incubator program. Another goal is to increase equality and promote companies founded by women and by people with other backgrounds. The goal is that by 2024, half of Minc´s incubator companies will be run by women and half of the companies that raise capital will be run by women. Increased focus on match-making and more active outreach is expected to contribute to a higher number of relevant startups in Minc´s incubator.
Planned approach and implementation
By evaluating and accepting companies in Minc´s established program Startup Labs for verification and Minc incubator for incubation. Minc has further developed its incubator program to provide customized support based on the company´s needs. The pre-incubator Startup Labs fulfil an important function in qualifying companies for the incubator. Minc will actively seek companies that meet the criteria for the incubator with a focus on sustainability and gender equality.
