Reference number
Coordinator LINDHOLMEN SCIENCE PARK AKTIEBOLAG - Test Site Sweden
Funding from Vinnova SEK 400 000
Project duration September 2012 - March 2013
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

There are no unified methodology or common way to evaluate range anxiety today. The project has therefore developed a methodology that can indicate an information system´s ability to minimise or eliminate range anxiety. The project has identified a set of recommendations, grounded in empirical experiences, which can be used when evaluating range anxiety.

Results and expected effects

The project has identified important aspects to consider when evaluating range anxiety that can be used to catch the phenomenon. The analysis of the different ways of evaluating range anxiety has shown methodological implications and the need of common terminology. The result of the project leads to a number of methodological implications (recommendations) to consider when investigating the phenomenon or evaluating systems/designs addressing range-related issues. The recommendations can be used during the full process, i.e. in planning, implementation and analysis.

Approach and implementation

The project was conducted in three steps, firstly different ways of analysing range anxiety was examined. After that the different methods was evaluated by comparing similarities and differences. This was done in two workshops by the project partners. The final step was to identify a set of recommendations, grounded in empirical experiences, which could be used when evaluating range anxiety. This also included a seminar with participants from the industry, this seminar objective was to secure the quality and industrial relevance of the work.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
