Call Preparatory project for international proposal in health and food

Important results from the project

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The preparatory project aimed to maximize the chances for the main project "intrActED" to receive funding from Horizon Europe in a call for proposals on endocrine disrupting substances. Exposure to endocrine disruptors has been clearly linked to a number of health problems, but current methods of testing and risk assessing chemicals are not sufficient to reliably identify and regulate these substances. intrActED will promote measures that improve knowledge about, and the management of, endocrine disrupting substances.

Expected long term effects

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The preparatory project produced i) a feasibility study which provided information on which chemical mixtures will be tested in the main project and which significantly strengthened the main project´s hypotheses; and ii) a highly competitive proposal submitted on 13th April 2023. The main effect of the project is expected to be that the proposal receives funding (over 7 million Euros) and can be implemented 2024-2029. The result is expected in August/September 2023.

Approach and implementation

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** Coordination and management work was carried out effectively and led to a competitive proposal within the framework of the budget. The consortium consists of 19 international experts with complementary skills that match the needs of the project. The collaboration was strengthened through a number of web meetings and three physical meetings, one with the entire group and two in smaller groups. The preliminary study was carried out and laid the basis for an important part of the work that is planned in the main project.
